Information

Port Levy artist Jacqui Gibbs Chamberlain presents a dynamic collection of oil paintings exploring freedom, movement, stillness and connection. Through her distinctive use of colour, texture and expressive mark-making, Jacqui creates works that are full of energy and movement, balanced by moments of calm contemplation. Figures, animals and unexpected objects draw the eye across the canvas, opening a painterly window into Jacqui’s restlessly creative inner world.

To be Untethered is to hold two truths at once: the thunder of horses running free across the open ground, and the stillness of standing beside an animal and breathing.

Life exists within this contradiction — the rush forward and the quiet of presence.

Solitude holds its own noise, while the world beyond calls urgently. Yet the purest freedom arrives in the hush beside a horse, or the steady rhythm of a dog’s walk.

True freedom is not about escaping the lead, but in the quiet knowing that while running you remain held to what you love.
