Ran Turner

After a 30-year creative hiatus, Ran Turner has rediscovered his passion for making. Drawn to the challenge of transforming a simple strip of metal into a dynamic three-dimensional form, he crafts each sculpture by hand. Through careful cutting, bending, twisting, and folding, Turner coaxes movement and vitality from the material. Many of his works are kinetic, animated by air currents and illuminated by shifting light that dances across their reflective surfaces.

“Each sculpture begins as a single strip of metal. Through a series of cuts and transformations, it becomes a three-dimensional piece. I think of them as elegant, whimsical sculptures with a philosophical twist—they come alive through air and light.”
