Juliet Best is a full-time artist based in Wellington who paints Aotearoa inspired flora, fauna and coastal scenes with the aim to celebrate the atmospheric beauty of New Zealand landscapes through her art practice. Her paintings, often large in scale, feature bold hues, highly textured landforms, strong horizon lines and hand-gilded gold-leaf highlights. The many layers and rendering of the gold-leaf lends a subtlety and luxurious elegance to Juliet’s paintings. Juliet exhibits regularly nationwide and has work in private and corporate collections both in New Zealand and internationally. She is the Artist in Residence for the Life Flight Rescue Helicopter – Life Flight Wellington.
