Beth McGill

Beth Te Aroha McGill is a Palmerston North–based Māori artist of Ngāti Whatua, Ngāti Maniapoto, Te Rārawa, Te Aupōuri, and Ngāti Ruanui descent. She specialises in acrylic-painted feathers featuring New Zealand birds, plants, and landscapes; an uncommon medium that highlights both her technical skill and connection to nature.

Since then, she has consistently exhibited across New Zealand, including regular participation in the NZ Art Show in Wellington.

McGill’s feather paintings are renowned for their precision and sensitivity—each piece is individually hand-painted, with the intricate detail and personality of the subject faithfully captured on a natural, fragile canvas
